How eyebright helps the eyes
Eyebright is used externally to make lotions, poultices, and eye-baths. It is used for eye complaints associated with disorders and inflammation of the blood vessels, for inflammation of the eyelids and conjunctiva, as a preventive measure against mucus and catarrh of the eyes. In folk medicine, eyebright is used for blepharitis, conjunctivitis, styes, eye fatigue symptoms, functional eye disorders of muscular and nervous origin.
1/2 Tbsp herb to 8oz Distilled water. Pour boiling water over herb. Steep for 15 minutes, strain, let cool and wash eyes 2 times per day.
