Dandelion Burdock Tea
1 teaspoon Dandelion root
1 teaspoon Burdock root
1 cup Boiling water
How to: Add 1 cup of boiling water to herbs in a cup, and steep for 20-25 minutes.
Recommended dosage: Drink 3 to 4 cups daily, alone or in elixirs.
Liver Tincture
Ingredients
1 part Burdock root
1 part Dandelion root
How to: To create the tincture use 40% alcohol, unpasteurised apple cider vinegar or glycerine.
Put herbs in a clean dry glass jar. Pour enough alcohol over the herbs to completely cover them by 2 to 3 inches, put tight-fitting lid on.
Let the herbs soak in the jar for 3 to 6 weeks in a dark area such as, in a cupboard or dark place on a counter. Strain the herbs from the liquid and pour into clean jar.
Recommended dosage: Take 1/2-1 tsp 3 to 4 times a day.
Burdock Tonic Tea Recipe
Ingredients
1 teaspoon Burdock root
1 teaspoon Dandelion root
2 buds Red Clover flowers
How to: Combine all the above ingredients in a large mug. Add boiling water and cover. Steep for 30 minutes. Strain, and drink.
Recommended dosage: Drink 3 cups daily for 1 to 2 months.
Spring Tonic
Ingredients
1 tablespoon Dandelion root*
1 tablespoon Burdock root*
1 tablespoon Dandelion Leaf
1 tablespoon Nettles
1 tablespoon Red Clover
2 quarts Water
How to: Place dandelion root and burdock root in a saucepan with water, cover and bring to a boil. Lower the flame and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Pour the hot decoction* in a quart jar or teapot with the nettles, dandelion leaf, and red clover. Let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes.
Recommended dose: Drink 2 to 3 cups daily for 1 to 2 months.
Dandelion Burdock Nettle Tonic
Ingredients
1/4 cup Dandelion root (dried)
1/4 cup Burdock root (dried)
1/2 cup Nettle leaf (dried)
2 quarts Water
How to: Add dandelion root and burdock root to 2 quarts of water. Bring them to a boil then turn off the fire. Add nettle leaf. Let it sit overnight. In the morning, strain and store in a mason jar.
Recommended dose: Drink 1 to 2 cups daily for 1 to 2 months.
